PALILULA - MOST SUCCESSFUL MUNICIPALITY IN LEDIB PROJECTS

 Director LEDIB (Local Economic Development Balkans) and Carsten Lund and President of Palilula Municipality Boban Džunić on the occasion of Palilula final activities of the project "Development and improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs in the field of improving energy efficiency in buildings", estimated that the last four-year cooperation has been very successful. Thanks to good Municipal projects, which were aimed at improving rates of local economic development, the budget of the organization of the local government of the City of Nis increased by 58, 000 EurosOur project management team, present here today, is highly rated by LEDIB organization, said Palilula Municipal president Boban Džunić..

FIRST REGIONAL SAFE HOUSE CELEBRATED FIRST ANNIVERSARY

 With appropriate ceremony - one year from the opening of the First regional safe house situated in Palilula Municipality, was celebrated. According to Sladjana Zivkovic Kostic, manager of this institution, `Safe House` in Nis, during the last year was the safe place for 59 women and 52 children, victims of home domestic violence. Brankica Jankovic, state secretary in Ministry of labour, employment and social policy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, emphasized that the Ministry will work again on creating the legal conditions for the women not to be and stay in safe houses, but in their own homes and that violent people should be legally persecuted.

NEW CYCLE OF BUBANJ MEMORIAL PARK ADAPTATION IN NIS HAS STARTED

 Memorial Park `Bubanj` - area around monuments and Amphitheatre that are reconstructed thanks to demands of financial resources from project `Cooperation for sustainable cultural tourism in Municipalities Bobov Dol and Palilula` within cross border cooperation Bulgaria –Serbia, visited the president of Palilula Municipality Boban Dzunic with associates. For the work implementation in this phase of the project, after the tender completion, Society MD Gradnja engineering Transport – Nis was selected. It is also planned that the works on the project should be completed by October 15 2012.

THE OBJECTIVE IS TO IMPROVE LIFE STANDARD IN COMMUNITY

 Palilula Municipality successfully went through recertification check of quality system management implementation in accordance with the standard ISO 9001:2008. The representatives of certification house LL-C (Certification) from Prague – Czech Republic under the authorized CERT-PLUS, Agency for engineering of system management – Nis, estimated that the work of Authorities of Palilula Municipality satisfy very high standards of this quality standard. On this occasion the certificate no 3810059, that refers to `services under authorization of City Municipality and improvement of life standard in community`, was issued and given.

PALILULA MUNICIPALITY ALSO HELPED NIS MATERNITY CLINIC

 Nis Maternity Department got four new incubators and one lamp for phototherapy, as part of a national campaign of the Fund B92 - Battle for the babies. Donors are Jura Corporation, Art of Giving association, Palilula Municipality and KBC Bank. This is a new step in the campaign, called Battle of the maternity ward, which, aside from the incubator, continues to purchase of all equipment for all maternity hospitals in Serbia.In the past year, health care facilities in Nis has been donated eight incubators and with new donation, thanks to B92 action "Battle for babies", and this number has increased to twelve. In the same time in all maternity hospitals in Serbia, through grants, 203 incubators were provided.

This reception for the president of Palilula Municipality in Nis Eparchy residence was the motive for the getting introduced the Archbishop of Nis and new elected Municipal president. The information about the activities of this City of Nis local self organization of the programme of the celebration of Municipal Saints Day celebration – SABOR SRPSKIH SVETITELJA were also matters of discussion.

 The Council of Palilula Municipality meeting chaired by Boban Dzunic Municipal president spoke about the Programme of maintaining of communal infrastructure in settlements of municipalities. It was estimated that planned works on the preparation and equipping of surfaces of public purposes with communal infrastructure in this Municipality will be faster, thanks to the understanding and support of the Mayor of Nis. After the visit of Palilula Municipality and discussion with the authorities of the Municipality and Municipal administration, intensive works on the completion of many already started investments on Palilula continued.

NEW MUNICIPAL AUTHORITIES CONTINUE WITH CONSTRUCTION

 Election campaign activities and promises of politicians are behind us. New authorities in the City and Nis municipalities take over the initiative. The Mayor of Nis spoke about it in Palilula Municipality during his visit. In the discussion with Boban Dzunic, president of the Municipality, said that he had ordered that Public Enterprise Directorate for city construction of the City of Nis until the beginning of November this year all the works on infrastructural objects should be finished and not completed in this municipality.

 Mayor of Nis Prof. Dr. Zoran Perisic, after the call of the president of Palilula Municipality Boban Dzunic, visited Palilula Municipality and with the authorities spoke about the current issues of work and further development of this organization of local self governement, cooperation with the authorities and authorized departments of the City, as well as about the realization of capital investments and realization of common projects. This first meeting started with exchanging presents `Palilula Monograph` and `Lexicon of Nis`. Press conference proceeded. Palilula is not the first Municipality that sent me an invitation, but the first one I am visiting – said Perisic. Palilula Municipality has its feature that, first of all I have to say, goes from one good hand to another.
